current event 1/09/09

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/07/arts/design/07album.html?_r=1&ref=design

This was about how Barney Bubbles, an artist for indie record labels, had turned 40 and needed to make some more money, he went around london looking for jobs, and in many interviews, there were younger artists trying to pass off his work for theirs. it wasn't surprising since he never signed his work, but he designed the covers of many independent bands, and even though he avoided publicity, and was ignored by it. he commited suicide at the age of 41. there is a book of his artwork labeled, "Reasons to be Cheerful: The Life and Work of Barney Bubbles" he lived a life in the shadow, but still influenced and was admired by many young designers.

I think this is a sad thing. here was this artist, a man that was obviously very humble, but people were basically ripping him off. he ended up killing himself! hopefully there will never be a time when this happens to me.

Current Event 11-20-08

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/21/business/21markets.html?_r=1&ref=business

Hey guys, this is another current event. The article for this week was titled A Day After Sell-Off, Market Seeks a Course, from the New York Times. This was about how the Stock Market was in chaos today, after a sell-off yesterday. The New York Times stated that stocks "wobbled between positive and negative territory, plunging 2 percent in the morning only to rise sharply at midday, then falter once again. "

I have to say that this was very predictable after yesterday's plunge. There could be only one thing that could happen. There would be chaos, people are getting afraid to invest in some things, and because of that, the prices go down, then people start buying stocks, then start selling, and so on. It's going to take a very long time for the stock market to stabilize judging by how it's been behaving lately.

Volatile Session on Wall Street

This article was about how the stock market is still volatile, swinging up and down at an alarming intensity. it states that the DOW Jones dropped below 8000 points today, then went right back up. These trends have been going on alot lately.

I think our economy needs help, it's clear that our economy is in shambels. what we need is a way to get our stock market back into shape. the stock markets don't even have a sense of direction anymore, they're just doing this whiplash thing of going up and down and up and down all day long. There is no safe way to invest right now, because who knows when the price for a stock will drop suddenly, right before you sell, or right after you buy. It's just a difficult time right now for everybody all over the world.

Current Event of the Day

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/31/business/31yen.html?_r=1&ref=business&oref=slogin

Hey, this is the article that I read today, and its title is Japan Offers Stimulus Package to Spur its economy.

This Thursday, Japan offered a 51 billion dollar stimulus package for businesses all over japan, This was one of the biggest efforts from Japan to help the global credit crisis. After they announced a plan to help their economy, shares surged throughout the region. The package also included a large amount of tax breaks.

I knew this was going to happen, eventually every nation in the world was bound to be sucked into this problem, and now people are finally realizing that this needs to be stopped. Hopefully out worlds nations can get this fixed, and hopefully, the world's governments can figure out what to do to their economies to keep this from happening again.

That's this weeks current event, see you guys later.

Halloween and Censorship

Hey peeps, All-Hallows-Eve is just around the bend, and along with it is an issue that I've started to notice lately. Every year, Halloween costumes for both children and s have been getting either more gruesome, or more revealing. I'm not the first to say that there is no problem with being scary on Halloween, but there is a fine line between being scary and being macabre. Little kids do not need to be going around as some sort of very detailed zombie or something to that effect, some kids just shouldn't be around that kind of stuff. Then there's the fact that there's more sultry costumes being released lately for both s and children. It's perfectly fine for an to wear something of this sort, but why are there little kids running around dressed in innappropriate costumes? Then there the parents of these kids, who are all
"I can't believe some of the products being sold these days!" Well, stop complaining, if you guys don't want your daughter going around as an overly Snow White, THEN DON'T BUY THEM THESE COSTUMES!!!! If parents are that concerned with the costumes that little kids are wanting, then towe their little selves out of Celebrations, drive home, grab a bunch of fabric and face paint, and make them their own costumes. And if anybody says ANYTHING close to "Well I just don't have the time" then let your kids do some work, do you think that during the day of the in Mexico, that Mommies and Daddies went out and bought costumes for their kids, here your answer NO!! You know, at least use it as an excuse for spending time with your children, it's a proven fact most kids develope and attitude and other problems with their parents is because they didn't spend enough time with them in the first place. And to those people who are so paranoid about those sick people who put needles and razors in candy, then do a little research for anybody with a slight problem with mental instability in your neighborhood, or you could do something original, like turn your house into a Haunted Mansion, and invite a bunch of people over, have a haunted house party or something, and if you kids complain about how they want to go trick or treating, then spend some time beforehand making candy for them, and maybe let them help out with foresaid party. My halloween would be alot more enjoyable if people would go by this advice. Less sultry and macabre costumes, less parents complaining and no sick people putting razors in with the Resses. Good bye people, and have a pleasant evening this all-hallows-eve.

America vs FCC

Hey guys, third post for this blog, this one will be about the battle between the FCC and America's citizens. The FCC is trying to completely ban all offensive topics from television and radio, while american's knowing how this orginization is trying so hard to get this goal to happen, fight just as hard to prevent it. I don't know why they struggle so hard to do this, but I believe that it's a collective rebellion against a orginization. Sure I agree with the FCC, kids are watching, and things should be cleaned up to a certain extent, but then it spread to cable, and I'm sure that the FCC, if they had they way, would even change Van Dyke show to the Beep van Beep show. These people are trying so hard to remove all offensive words from the media, but I'm sure all of you are with me when I say that we are all capable of creating more offenive terms than those with "dirty words". I personally could, but won't because no one needs to hear it. We don't need to be oppressed by these people on a power trip. we don't need to deal with this at all, but america will as usual because they don't really know exactly how free we are, and can be. I'm tired of either hearing people complaining about "how offensive and disturbed the views are that are expressed in television these days" or people whining about "how they're tired of how restricted they are, and how their favorite shows are being cleaned up" This is a democracy people, get off the fat lumps that you call rear ends, and go DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!

Thank you for reading, sincerely your truely, Ryan

P.S. look into joining the Foamy Card Cult, foamy's an internet squirrel that I agree with very much, he's not real, but the opinions that he expresses are valid. I'll also fess up, many of the things that I wrote on this post are either exactly the same as a rant from the Jonathan Matthers creation, but I still agree with the points, I do not claim that these were original ideas from me, but I still strongly agree with them.

Frost Poem

hey guys, this is a poem that I found in the front cover of a book that I was reading, and I think that I should share it with you.

Some say the world will end in fire,
some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire;
I side with those who favor fire.
but if the world had to perish twice,
I'd had known enough of ,
and for that ice will do,
and will suffice.
This is one of my favorite poems of all time, it was writen by a man with the last name of Frost I can't remember what his first name was. Think about what this poem is all about.
There is an issue that I have witnessed everywhere in the world today. People everywhere are thinking that they are better than anyone else. This just gets me so mad, just because a senior VP at a major corporation thinks that he's better, he believes that everyone else is there to do their bidding. Don't let this happen to you, don't ever think that your better because of your pay, and don't let these people get to you, don't let them bring you down, give the world your all and you shall be rewarded.
Thank you for reading, and see you next time.
